Coordinator
Mr. Mehdizadeh Tabrizi
Mr. Mehdizadeh Tabrizi was born in September 1942, near the autumnal equinox, in Mianeh, Iran. He describes his life as a lifelong commitment to God, creation, education, service, and the betterment of people.
From early childhood he helped his family and community. By age ten he was helping with his father's business, and by fourteen he had begun his own business. Sports and teaching also shaped his path: he began soccer at age eight and later excelled in soccer, running, volleyball, and basketball.
As a student and teacher, Mr. Tabrizi tutored discouraged students and taught science, mathematics, biology, anatomy, and geology. After graduating from George Washington University, he organized a historic Ramadan gathering at the Marvin Center and continued developing educational and cultural initiatives.
In 1986, he established Avicenna University in Washington, DC. UN26 and 26 University continue his broader hope: to encourage leaders, teachers, and communities to discover talents, build cooperation, and serve a more peaceful world.
Life and Calling

Mr. Tabrizi describes moments from his own life that shaped his faith, persistence, and belief that people are called to help each other.
Surviving as an infant
When Mr. Tabrizi was eight months old, he crawled from his room, passed through the yard, and fell into water. He struggled there for hours before being found.
He remembers this story as one of the first signs that his life had been protected and returned to him for a purpose.
Choosing life again
Many decades later, during a serious illness in the coronavirus period, his family was told to come for him. In the hospital, he describes feeling exhausted and ready to let go.
Then he thought of his young grandson saying, "Papa, don't die. We need you." He pushed the call button, told the doctors and nurses he did not want to die, and says he remained in the hospital for 58 days before recovering.

A two-minute science lesson
Mr. Tabrizi gave a short lecture at Catholic University to students who thought science would be difficult because they were studying art. He told them he had chosen science intentionally, to show that everyone has talent when the right doorway is opened.
He placed two pictures on the board. One was under light and showed a meter moving. The other was in darkness and the meter did not move. When students noticed the difference, he asked them to name the cause of the movement. The answer was light.
For him, that was the beginning of science: seeing clearly, connecting cause and effect, and learning page by page until a difficult subject becomes understandable. He says the same principle should guide teachers in every classroom.

Active Science Teacher Training
Mr. Tabrizi pioneered a practical teacher-training project that can prepare active science teachers in four days instead of four years. His purpose is not to replace deep study, but to give teachers a clear, usable method for helping students learn faster and with more confidence.
He believes world leaders should welcome faster, less expensive ways to prepare good teachers because a better world depends on better classrooms.

Mr. Tabrizi coordinated a call with the White House during a difficult time when the Saddam Hussein regime was using chemical weapons against innocent civilians, including children and the elderly.
With the leadership of President Ronald Reagan and the cooperation of other world leaders, efforts were made to promote peace and stability in the region. As a result, the people of Iran and Iraq celebrated the end of the conflict and the hope for a more peaceful future.
The work began while he was traveling to New York to buy inventory for his store. At New Carrollton, after stepping onto the train, he felt God direct him to return and work for peace between Iran and Iraq.
He came back, invited Iranian government representatives to speak with him, and was advised that President Reagan was the leader who could help. Mr. Tabrizi then called the White House, exchanged ideas, and understood the effort as a duty guided by faith rather than a search for attention.
There were 22 days of pressure, calls, media attention, and personal expense. He refused interviews afterward because the purpose was not publicity; the purpose was to finish what he believed God had asked him to do.
Today he connects that story to UN26: people and nations do not need to fight over what God has already provided. They need cooperation, care, and the will to help each other instead of hurting each other.
